A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority and the Addis Ababa Police Headquarters

(T/M/B December 15/2018):- A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority and the Addis Ababa Police Headquarters today at the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority’s headquarters.
The Director General of the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Ato Kbebew Mideksa, opened the signing ceremony of the MoU, saying that our city, in addition to being the capital of the federal government and the capital of Africa, is also serving as the seat of various international organizations and institutions.

Accordingly, as its internal and international interaction is growing rapidly and the number and movement of vehicles in connection with its economic and social activities are increasing day by day, Ato Kbebew said that the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority is working to implement an integrated traffic management system with the help of modern technology.
He said that, in particular, due to the work we are doing with the Addis Ababa Traffic Police, we have been working together for a common goal, and the number of accidents that occur to people and property has been decreasing from time to time.
He said that today, as this agreement is being signed, the city is becoming a tourist attraction and a conference center, and it is a first step to ensure that there is traffic movement and safety that befits its name.

Deputy Commissioner Fikru Alemayehu, Commander of the Crime Traffic Accident Prevention Department of the Addis Ababa Police General Directorate, said that crime has decreased by 40 percent today through the crime prevention work carried out by our institution; He said that our city is rapidly developing and that tourists can enter and exit without any security concerns.
The Deputy Commissioner said that in the past months, the city has hosted meetings from continental to international without any problems. Similarly, in order to facilitate traffic movement and ensure safety,
he said that today we will sign an agreement with the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority.
He also pointed out that it is necessary to create a common platform to evaluate the activities and performance of both institutions, based on the structure of both institutions, from the center to the sub-city. The heads of both institutions signed the agreement.
