Awareness training for traffic controllers at the Authority has begun

(December 07/2018):- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority (ADMA) has started providing awareness training to traffic controllers and traffic management professionals from all 11 branches on topics related to road transport traffic control, traffic control procedures and professional ethics.
The awareness program organized by the Traffic Control and Traffic Management Directorate of the Authority was opened by Deputy Director General Ato Amare Tarekne, who said that they have been providing awareness training to traffic controllers every year, in addition to professional and legal training, as well as various trainings focused on professional ethics expected of traffic controllers.

In the current fiscal year, Deputy Director General Ato Amare stated that training has been prepared on a similar topic, especially on how traffic controllers should treat customers and how to avoid poor governance and corruption.
Therefore, he announced the start of the training program, urging professionals to attend the training with attention and ethics in the ongoing training, which will be provided in a continuous manner.
While giving the training, Ato Dereje Worku, the head of the Directorate's Traffic Control Team, explained the main customer behaviors and customer treatment observed during traffic control, the main ethical shortcomings observed from traffic controllers and the solutions that should be taken, what behaviors should be expected from the traffic controller even if the violator commits an inappropriate act, and other topics.
In addition, they provided training on the reasons for the need to amend the Road Transport Traffic Control Regulation No. 557/2016, the amended sections of the regulation, the penalties imposed on violators, and the violations committed by traffic controllers.
They also provided an explanation on the Regulation No. 149/2016 issued to determine the movement of trucks and similar vehicles.
Finally, the traffic controllers discussed the presentation in groups and after the presentation, they asked questions and comments on the issues that were not clear to them, and the day's program was concluded. The program will continue next Thursday:
