(T.A.B. November 27/2018):- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority has announced that it is focusing on 25 roads, squares, terminals and junctions identified as having traffic flow problems in the city through field observations.
According to the Director of the Traffic Control and Traffic Management Directorate of the Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Ato Ayalew Etisa, intensive management work is being carried out in the city, especially at places where traffic congestion is observed during the entry and exit hours.
Ato Ayalew said that efforts are being made to regulate traffic flow in a manner that includes stakeholders, especially traffic police members and volunteer traffic controllers. He said that among the areas identified as having traffic congestion are the usual 72, CMC Meri Site and Ayat Meri in Lamikura Sub-City; Total Madiya to Adey Square and from Maltegna Abo Lampara in Akaki Qaliti.

In addition, in Yeka Sub-City from Lamberet to Diaspora Square and from Gurdshola to Medanka Terminal; in Kolfe Sub-City from Zenebework to Total and from Kara to Air Health; in Bole Sub-City from Bole Michael to Giorgis Lampara and from Ednamol Auraris Golagul 22; and in other places, he said that work to regulate traffic flow in a coordinated and coordinated manner is continuing.
In addition to the maintenance, Ato Ayalew said that the work of lifting vehicles that are blocking the road is also being carried out with a crane; for example, he said that six vehicles were lifted by the institution's crane at the British Embassy Line, reducing traffic congestion at Diaspora Square and the intersection.
It was understood from the director's statement that engineering improvements that will improve the flow of traffic in the city based on further studies will also be implemented.
