Ethiopia is a multi-religious country!!!
Today, we held a fruitful discussion with the religious leaders and leaders of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church under the theme “Religious Institutions in the Perspective of the State of Medemer”.
The Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church has played a crucial role in building today’s Ethiopia, along with other religious institutions. The Church has played a significant role in state building; preserving ancient heritage, stories and traditions and passing them on to future generations; educating the next generation; teaching morality and human compassion; strengthening people-to-people ties and participating in development.
We discussed the contribution of the Church to the overall peace-building, development and prosperity journey of our city, not only in history but also in the past years of change, and we reached an agreement to stand together for the strengthening of people-to-people ties, peace, the prosperity of Ethiopia and the national interest.
The discussion forum was an effective platform that created a conducive environment for resolving some of the gaps that had arisen. This forum was a summary of the discussions that had been taking place in each district of the city, and clearly defined the roles and responsibilities of the government and religious institutions.
Dear Fathers and Leaders of the Orthodox Tewahedo Church; I would like to express my sincere gratitude on behalf of myself and the city administration for your active participation and constructive ideas.

ኢትዮጵያ የብዝሃ-ሃይማኖት አገር ናት!!!
“የሃይማኖት ተቋማት በመደመር መንግሥት እይታ” በሚል መሪ ሀሳብ ዛሬም ከኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተክርስቲያን የሃይማኖት አባቶችና አመራሮች ጋር ፍሬያማ ውይይት አካሂደናል፡፡
የኢትዮጵያ ኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተክርስቲያን የዛሬዋን ኢትዮጵያ በመገንባት ረገድ ከሌሎች የሃይማኖት ተቋማት ጋር በመሆን ወሳኝ ሚና አበርክታለች። ቤተክርስቲያኗ በሀገረ መንግሥት ግንባታ፤ ጥንታዊ ቅርሶችን፣ ታሪኮችንና ትውፊቶችን ጠብቆ ለትውልድ በማሸጋገር፤ ትውልድን በማነጽ፤ ግብረ-ገብነትንና ሰብአዊ ርኅራኄን በማስተማር፤ የሕዝብ ለሕዝብ ትስስርን በማጠናከር እንዲሁም በልማት ተሳትፎ የጎላ ድርሻ ስትወጣ ቆይታለች።
በታሪክ ብቻ ሳይሆን ባለፉት የለውጥ ዓመታትም ቤተክርስቲያኗ በከተማችን ሁለንተናዊ የሰላም ግንባታ፣ የልማት እና የብልፅግና ጉዞ ላይ እያበረከተች ያለውን አስተዋጽኦ አንስተን የተወያየን ሲሆን፣ ለሕዝቦች ትስስር መጎልበት፣ ለሰላም ፣ ለኢትዮዽያ ብልፅግና እና ለብሔራዊ ጥቅም በጋራ ለመቆም መግባባት ላይ ደርሰናል።
የዉይይት መድረኩ፣ የተነሱ አንዳንድ ያጋጠሙ ክፍተቶችን በትብብር ለማረም የሚያስችል ምቹ መደላድል የፈጠረ ውጤታማ መድረክ ነበር። ይህ መድረክ በየክፍለ ከተማው ሲካሄዱ የቆዩ ውይይቶች ማጠቃለያ ሲሆን፣ የመንግሥትንና የሃይማኖት ተቋማትን ሚና እና ድርሻ በግልጽ ለይቶ ያስቀመጠ ነው።
ክቡራን የኦርቶዶክስ ተዋሕዶ ቤተክርስቲያን አባቶችና አመራሮች፤ ላደረጋችሁት ከፍተኛ ተሳትፎና ለሰጣችሁን ገንቢ ሐሳብ በራሴና በከተማ አስተዳደሩ ስም ከልብ አመሰግናለሁ።
