(T/M/B February 20/2018) :- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, in collaboration with Abet Hospital, has provided training on first aid to traffic control professionals, volunteer traffic controllers and teachers.
The main objective of the training is to save lives by providing immediate first aid and care to the injured person who has been injured in a traffic accident until he reaches a health facility.
Accordingly, it has become necessary to provide training to entities working in the field of road safety in partnership with the institution.

The training was conducted by Dr. Addisu Yimam, Medical Director of Abet Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit, under the coordination of the Authority’s Road Safety Awareness and Capacity Building Directorate.
Dr. Addisu provided theoretical and practical training focused on the nature of first aid, the responsibilities of trainees, legal support for first aid providers, and the parts of the body that are given first aid and the precautions that should be taken.

In particular, he asked the trainees to share the skills they have acquired after the training with other members of the community in their area and to play their part in assisting the authority in its work on post-disaster response.
Finally, the day's program concluded with the presentation of certificates of participation to the trainees.
