The Authority provided training to female employees on life skills and institutional culture building

(T/MA/BA February 17/2018 A.D.):- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority provided training to female employees on life skills, “Empowering Women” and “Building Institutional Culture for Institutional Success” at the main office hall.
At the forum organized by the Authority’s Standardization Service Delivery Monitoring, Support and Evaluation Directorate, Head of the Administration and Finance Office, Ms. Hawa Wabi, said that the Authority is making the city’s traffic movement comfortable and safe in line with its vision through the activities carried out.
Ms. Hawa said that the results and changes have come from reform and hard work, and one of these results is the real participation of women. She urged the women in the institution to continue to be effective in their responsibilities, to lead effectively and to perform better, and the trainees to attend the training closely.
The training, titled “Empowering Women,” was delivered by Ms. Rachel Mulugeta, a child rights expert from the Women, Children and Social Affairs Bureau.
She gave a wide-ranging presentation on topics such as life skills, self-confidence, decision-making skills, and women and leadership that will help women in their social, economic, and personal development.
According to Ms. Rachel, women need to be fed with good things and develop a spirit of empowerment so that they can rely on their own abilities and actively participate in society.
She explained that empowering women means being guided by the laws of the world, ensuring spiritual, economic, and gender equality, and generally ensuring that they have better participation and activity in their lives.
The training titled “Building Institutional Culture for Institutional Success” was delivered by Miheret Ha/Meskel (PhD), Director of Management Training at the Addis Ababa City Administration Management Academy, who pointed out that institutional culture is a set of values, attitudes and behaviors that determine the nature of an institution, and that by strengthening institutional values, the effectiveness of an institution can be increased.
He explained that institutional culture plays a significant role in institutional development and strengthens the motivation and accountability of employees, and that leadership can achieve joint results by working for employees and showing mutual commitment, making them understand their environment and institutions.
Finally, the women participants in the training stated that they gained good knowledge from the training and are ready to strengthen the building of institutional culture by implementing the knowledge they gained in their institutions and moving towards sustainable success.
It was further announced that the training will be given in two rounds to female managers and professionals.
