(T/M/B December 15 / 2018 A.D.):- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority’s senior leaders, employees and volunteer traffic controllers today visited the dense forest in France Jesus, Yeka Sub-City, to water and care for the saplings planted during the winter months under the Green Footprint Project.

The Authority’s Deputy Director General, Mr. Elias Zerga, opened the program with a speech and stated that the planting of the Green Footprint Project has resulted in improvements in the environment due to the implementation of the Green Footprint Project over the past several years and that the institution is taking the lead in fulfilling its social responsibility in this endeavor.

He also said that the recognition of the Green Footprint Development Project at international forums is creating opportunities for large conferences to be held in our country.
The Deputy Director General also stated that the second round of watering and caring for seedlings was carried out in the dense forest area of France Jesus in Yeka Sub-City during the winter months, and that such activities will continue to be intensified until the seedlings are fully established and reach the tree stage.

Since trees contribute significantly to climate protection and productivity, not only planting seedlings but also regular watering, pruning and general care should be carried out until their growth is successful, and the employees and volunteer traffic managers expressed their opinion that they are ready to continue the care as directed by the head.
It is worth noting that the leaders, employees and volunteer traffic managers of the Authority have been participating in the planting and caring for the national tree saplings in the past years.
