Training on ethics and corruption prevention for parking association members

(T/M/B February 16/2018):- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, in collaboration with the Directorate of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Monitoring, provided a training on ethics and corruption prevention for parking association members today.
The Authority’s Deputy Director General, Mr. Elias Zerga, opened the training with a speech, saying that today’s relationship is a reminder that young people who provide parking services should be ethical when serving the community and how to resolve complaints.

Next, the Director of Ethics and Anti-Corruption Monitoring, Ato Tuli Merga, presented a training document on the nature of corruption, the characteristics of corruption crimes, types, manifestations, causes, consequences and solutions, as well as corruption prevention strategies.
Ato Tuli, while presenting, said that some parking association members are using the Enforcement and Parking Management System to collect service fees but are making drivers pay in cash, which is a manifestation of corruption and also promotes corruption.

Members of parking associations also provided their opinions and questions on the training document presented, to which Ninner Elias responded and explained, especially those raised in connection with the system. He indicated the ways in which the members should act.
