Deputy Mayor of Addis Ababa and Head of Industrial Development Office Mr. Jantarar Abay, who was present at the place and started the movement, said that protecting our residents from disaster is the primary task of the city administration by starting the movement in Akaqi Kaliti and ensuring sustainable development in all flood-prone areas. The deputy mayor said that the flood disaster a few years ago was tragic and that such a disaster should be prevented early. Therefore, he stated that the administration's agenda is to create a problem-free environment by providing solutions to the problems faced in the past. In addition to the government's efforts, Deputy Mayor Ato Jantarar stressed that residents have the responsibility to develop their city, take care of rivers and clean the river drainage canals in their area so that they are not blocked with garbage. Addis Ababa's deputy mayor, engineer brother Seta, who attended the program and delivered a message, said that the city administration has properly studied the risk situation and is working on sustainable response. The manager said that it is planned to significantly reduce the risk of accidents in the works carried out this summer. Even in the event of an accident, the work of building disaster-risk storage warehouses in all sub-districts has been completed, according to the engineer's brother.
