Traffic Police Members Received Training on Traffic Regulation Control and Parking Management System Application Usage

(T/M/B January 13/20118 AD):- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, in collaboration with Infratech Private Company, provided awareness training to traffic police members from Addis Ababa Police Headquarters on the use of Traffic Regulation Control and Parking Management System Application Usage.

Speaking at the program organized by Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority to inform them about the application process, the Authority’s Deputy Director General, Ato Amare Tarekne, said that the city administration and the authority are carrying out many activities to save citizens who lose their lives and suffer physical and psychological injuries due to traffic accidents.

Among the tasks are the development of a road safety strategy, the establishment of a road safety council, and the establishment of a strong traffic management system, said Ato Amare. He also mentioned that the application launched by the Authority in Letsgo has introduced a modern traffic system to the public and has updated its control work by implementing the revised Road Transport Control Regulation No. 557/2016.
The technology has eliminated the inconvenience of users by converting paper-based traffic fines and parking service fees to digital, in addition to saving more than 17 million birr spent on pad printing annually. Ato Amare said that the awareness-raising forum organized today is to introduce this modern technology to traffic police members so that they can use it properly.

The Authority added that it is a software that allows drivers who violate traffic regulations in the city to pay fines and manage parking services using digital technology, in accordance with the legal responsibility given to the Authority to manage and manage traffic activities in a modern manner.
Subsequently, conceptual and practical training was provided to traffic police members through the developer organization to fully implement the application.
It is noted that the Authority's regulatory experts will fully use the system.
