Pedestrians who did not follow proper road use were fined (T/M/B March 17/2016):- In Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority Yeka branch office together with stakeholders punished pedestrians who traveled in a way that could cause traffic collisions. The branch office handed down the fine when the sub-city traffic police department, traffic police division, peace and security office, law enforcement and volunteer coordination offices jointly conducted a round of traffic control and awareness raising for pedestrians in the area of safety lights in Shola Market. During the control process, 10 pedestrians who crossed the road without taking proper care were fined 40 Birr according to Rule No. 395/2009, while 8 pedestrians were given social services for not paying money. Pedestrians who have been fined have their IDs, passports and driver's licenses and have been issued fines and pay the fines at the bank. It will be remembered that the office has previously given awareness to pedestrians who cross the square, do not wait for the zebra and do not respect the traffic lights. The branch office has passed the punishment to the sub-city traffic police department, traffic police division, peace and order office, law enforcement and volunteers coordination offices at Shola market around safety lights. In the process of the control, 10 pedestrians were fined 40 birr for crossing the road without taking proper care and 8 pedestrians have been made to give social services for not paying money. Pedestrians who were fined have been fined by holding ID, passport and driving license and giving them a penalty note and making them pay to the bank. It is noted that the office has given awareness to pedestrians who cross the square earlier, who don't wait for zebra and who don't respect traffic lights. ·
