(T/MA March 17/ 2016):- In Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority Wind Phone Lafto branch office along with stakeholders have fined pedestrians who use the road in a manner that exposes them to traffic collisions according to the rules. It is known that 24 pedestrians who violated the rules were arrested during an inspection in Haile Garment area of ​​the city, where 19 of them had to pay 40 Birr and the rest were given a payment order. It was possible to carry out the correction by making the fined pedestrians come to the bank with ID, passport and driver’s license and by giving them a paper to make the payment. The manager of the branch office, Mr. Ashebir Zewde, said that the awareness program, which has been implemented for consecutive days, will be strengthened in coordination with Wind Phone Lafto Traffic Division. In the sub-city Haile Garment area that is equipped with infrastructure suitable for pedestrians, 24 pedestrians were caught and 19 of them paid 40 birr and the rest were given a pay note. The pedestrians who were fined can be corrected by giving them ID, passport and driving license and paper to pay. The branch office manager Mr. Asheber Zewde stated that the corrective measures taken on pedestrians who violate traffic rules in collaboration with Kenfas Telek Lafto Traffic Division will continue. ·
