It was announced that the preparations for celebrating Pagume days in the country in a grand manner have been completed. ********************* (Tamba August 29/2016) The Government Communication Service has issued a statement regarding the celebration of Pagume Days. According to the Minister of State, Ato Kebede Desisa, the 5 days that are the transition to the new era are an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the past years and to correct the weaknesses. Ato Kebede said that we have been able to resist the challenges that have been faced by us in the past years by resisting the conflicts and foreign interventions that could destroy the country and thus the first day of Pagume is the day to show our crossing in all forms. The Minister of State pointed out that the power generation of the Renaissance Dam, the revival of manufacturing industries, and the increase in wheat productivity are the achievements that show that we have crossed over. It was also mentioned that Pagume 2, named as “Reform Day”, will focus on meeting the needs of the people by modernizing Ethiopian institutions in a better way. Pagume 3 is named as “Sovereignty Day” and on that day, the unity of the country is commemorated by challenges that challenge its sovereignty. It has been said that the Ethiopian National Anthem will be sung in all areas of the country at 6 o'clock on that day. Pagume 4 is “Unity Day” and is celebrated with events that promote the value of solidarity and strengthen national unity under the motto “Our unity for our peace”. Pagume 5 is named as “Tomorrow Day” and the day is celebrated with events that highlight the achievements of nation building and the role of the youth in the nation building process. The 5 days of Pagume are celebrated in all regions and city governments, federal government institutions, Ethiopian embassies and consulates in foreign countries, as well as the entire community, the government communication service said in the statement.
