Before the implementation of the Road Transport Regulation No. 395/2009 regarding the violation of footpath users in our city, awareness activities are being given to pedestrians regarding the use of footpaths. Awareness is given in the squares and traffic light areas in the districts where there are many pedestrians, and by identifying and gathering pedestrians who cross the square inappropriately at the traffic lights and intersections and do not obey the traffic lights, awareness has been created on the use of pedestrian streets by page by page and leaflets. Traffic control and regulation enforcement directorate of the branch office, road safety awareness and capacity building team, traffic police control division in the district, police members, law enforcement authorities and volunteer youths together with the pedestrian crossings that are prone to danger and squares with high traffic flow will continue to be strengthened. In the future, based on Regulation No. 395/2009, pedestrians who do not obey the law will be fined between 40 and 80 birr, they told the pedestrians during the awareness campaign and urged them to implement the fine.
