Pedestrians were taught to follow proper road usage

(March 12/ 2016) :- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Gulele Branch Office has instructed pedestrians to follow proper road usage in accordance with Traffic Control Regulation No. 395/2009 on pedestrian crossings and roads in the city. The road safety awareness and capacity building team of the branch office in collaboration with members of the traffic police control division and volunteer traffic organizers conducted a road use awareness program on a wide scale. The Traffic Management Authority of Addis Ababa found it necessary to carry out awareness raising activities first before imposing a fine of 40 to 80 birr on pedestrians who do not comply with the law based on Regulation No. 395/2009 on pedestrian crossings and squares with high traffic flow. . The road safety awareness and capacity building team of the branch office in collaboration with the members of the traffic police control division and the volunteer traffic managers have conducted a road awareness program. The Addis Ababa traffic management authority is implementing this tax on pedestrian crossings where there is a high traffic flow and squares where there is a lot of accidents, according to the rule number 395/2009, before fining 40 to 80 birr on pedestrians who don't t respect the law. ·
