Winter Season Road Safety Awareness Movement Program Started ****************** (T/B July 11/2016):- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority from winter season Along with this, the road safety awareness movement which will last for 20 days to remind the road users to be careful has started in Addis Ababa with a walk accompanied by police marching band. Kbebewu Mideksa, Director General of Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, who spoke at the opening program of the Corridor Road in Mexico, said that the authority is working in coordination with stakeholders working in the sector to ensure road safety for the city's road users to enter and exit safely. Therefore, in order to reduce the risk of accidents during winter, this movement program has been developed so that all road users should comply with the traffic rules and regulations. He said that the process of raising awareness, especially pedestrians, are the most vulnerable in traffic collisions, so continuous education focused on pedestrians will be provided through various communication methods. In particular, the 5 corridor infrastructures that the government has paid special attention to, in addition to making the traffic flow comfortable, also solve the problem of pedestrian safety and to use them in a sustainable way, the general director said. The Addis Ababa police marching band, traffic police members, officers and employees of the institution, stakeholders and volunteer traffic management youth participated in the same walk that took place near the Sudanese embassy to the end of Mexico Square. The event is organized by Road Safety Awareness and Capacity Building Directorate in collaboration with branch offices.
