(March 18/2016) :- Traffic Management Authority of Addis Ababa city government has handed over the study document of the road safety improvement project conducted in selected areas of schools that are vulnerable to traffic accidents in the city in the presence of stakeholders. According to the plan of the fiscal year, the authority is identifying schools that are vulnerable to traffic accidents, focusing on safety and flow improvement works, and is carrying out a number of activities together with stakeholders. Therefore, together with non-governmental international humanitarian organizations that focus on road safety in the capital, by paying attention to the field, by conducting a study on the school where there is a lot of danger and where there is no flow and safety conditions, and by coordinating with the relevant stakeholders, by conducting a two-year study and evaluating the study, the preparation to enter the implementation phase. has completed During implementation, key stakeholders for the success of the project were identified and they are Addis Ababa Education Bureau, Addis Ababa Roads Authority, Addis Ababa Cleaning and Beautification Agency, Addis Ababa Water and Sewage Authority, and Addis Ababa Electricity Service. During the document handover, the Institute for Transportation and Development Policy (ITDP) and the Urban Center (TUC), which conducted the research on the safety improvement project, as well as senior officials of the authority were present. According to the budget year plan, the school authority is identifying schools that are prone to traffic accidents, focusing on safety and flow improvement works with stakeholders and carrying out many activities. Therefore, together with non-governmental international organizations that focus on road safety in the capital city, paying attention to the sector, conducting a research on schools where there are high risk and lack of safety and flow, and cooperating with the stakeholders, conducting a study that took two years and evaluating the study and finalizing the study to enter the practical phase.
