(February 11/2016) :- The traffic management authority of Addis Ababa city administration, in cooperation with the transport office and Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety, shared its experiences regarding the ongoing road safety and related issues with a delegation of senior leaders and experts from Mombasa, Kenya. The director general of the authority, Ato Kbebew Mideksa, stated in his opening speech that road traffic and safety in the city were of great concern a few years ago and with the approval of the city administration and the high attention given to the sector as well as the cooperation of stakeholders and partners, road safety and traffic in our city have improved significantly. In addition, two documents were presented to the members of the delegation as an explanation about the organization of the structure of the transport office and traffic management authority and the general aspects of the city's transport system and activities. Also, two documents related to road safety strategy and traffic data management and analysis were presented by philanthropic organizations called WRI and Vital Strategy and the members were made to take the experience. Finally, the members of the delegation raised their opinions and questions on the presented documents and had a wide discussion. The director of the authority Mr. Kebebew Mideksa said in his opening speech that road traffic activities and safety were of great concern in the city and the attention given to robbery and the cooperation of stakeholders and partners has shown a meaningful improvement in the city. Two documents about the transport bureau and traffic management authority structure and the transportation system and functions of the city are presented to the members of the Lukaan team. Also, two documents about road safety strategy and traffic information management and analysis have been presented by gay organizations named WRI and Vital Strategy for the members to learn from it. Finally, after the members of the delegation have raised their ideas, comments and questions on the documents presented, the experience exchange program has been completed by making a field visit to the authorities office about the road safety and flow activities. ·
