An awareness forum was held for garage owners regarding Transport Control Regulation No. 557/2016 and road traffic safety. Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority's Road Safety Awareness and Regulation Enforcement Sector provides awareness raising for garage owners based on Road Traffic Control Regulation No. 557/2016 and road traffic safety. He held a discussion today. It was pointed out that the main purpose of the sector to organize the awareness platform is to enable stakeholders to fulfill their responsibilities in the effort to reduce traffic accidents and to understand and work together on the changes in the Transport Control Regulation No. 557/2016 approved by the Council of Ministers. Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority Deputy Director General Ato Amare Tareqin opened the program with a speech and said that the implementation of the city's Transport Control Regulation No. 557/2016 is greatly helping the efforts to reduce traffic accidents. As a result, Mr. Amare stated that the owners of garages that provide vehicle repairs should provide services by verifying and keeping the information provided by the police and insurance companies to the drivers who have been involved in vehicle collisions and bring them to their garages. . He pointed out that doing this will help to catch some drivers who want to use garages as a hideout by violating traffic laws and regulations and causing danger to people and property. In the awareness discussion, a document was presented to the participants, and in its content, global, national and city current information on traffic accidents, pillars of road traffic safety and strategies to be implemented were mentioned. Also, the scope of applicability of Transport Traffic Control Regulation No. 557/2016, where it needs to be amended, its interpretation, fines and points to be registered for the violation of road use and traffic regulations have also been explained. In the presented document, the participants raised questions about the concerns they face in the process and the complaint submission process, and they were answered and explained by the officials from the field as well as the traffic department of the Addis Ababa Police Commission. Finally, a draft guide containing the detailed implementation process was prepared and a document of agreement was signed on the joint works and the program was completed.
