A familiarization program was held with the new leaders of the Addis Ababa Transport Bureau. A discussion was also held on the next directions of work. Driver and Vehicle Licensing and Control Authority senior leaders and branch office managers met with Addis Ababa Transport Bureau Chief Mr. Yabbal Addis and Operation Sector M/Bureau Chief Mr. Judge Sheferawu and welcomed them. The head of the office Mr. Yabbal Addis opened the program with a speech and said that today's forum is a knowledge program and also to discuss some of the challenges in the transportation sector by using our manpower and technology to bring better results in the sector. The chief added that the main issue that needs to be paid attention to in the road transport service is to ensure road safety, so to reduce the risk, traffic collision analysis data should be used properly and it should be coordinated with the stakeholders working in the sector. The Director General of Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Mr. Kbebewu Mideksa, said that there is no formal program like when new leaders who work in the sector join the work table in the past and said that today's formal forum and discussion of the future direction of work is appropriate. The Director-General added that the authority office has 18 powers and functions in the new structure and is working as the main world to ensure peaceful and acceptable traffic movement and in this process it has added 13 institutions as stakeholders and is working to save the lives of citizens from traffic accidents. Alem Seged Zeudem, the consultant of the institution, who presented the general activities of the authority's office in the program, detailed the authority's regular operations, social participation, political work and the challenges faced at work. In particular, he pointed out that a traffic control center has been built and located at the front of the system to change the direction of the traffic rules of the city. The General Manager of the Driver Vehicle Licensing and Control Authority, Engineer Dessalen Teref, presented the current situation of the office and detailed the challenges such as the organization of the institution, the number of users, the reform process, powers and functions. Finally, Mr. Yabbal Addis, the head of the office, presented the areas of focus to jointly develop the sector and the plan was finalized.
