He who deliberates endures!! Deliberation is the hallmark of a civilized society, as well as the guarantee of national stability. Today, Ethiopia has had the most precious opportunity of consultation in its history. Good fortunes do not come often; It is the responsibility of the generation to make good use of them. Looking back at our history, we realize that Ethiopia wasted many opportunities for peace and change by not consulting and listening. Our mistakes of yesterday, the golden opportunities we passed on in spite, revenge and disobedience directly lead us to the complex situation we are in today. The best time to consult was yesterday. If we had closed the chapter of understanding yesterday, we would be in the same situation as other developed countries today and we would be on another generational mission. But today there are no fewer opportunities ahead of us than yesterday. Yesterday we paid a heavy price for not using it. But the national consultation platform that we have now is our last and only common hope to learn from our past mistakes, write a new history and strengthen the country. In the history of our world, the experience of countries that have healed our deep social wounds through real dialogue and are strong today gives us a great lesson. The first and most prominent example is South Africa. After the terrible era of apartheid oppression, this country, which was very divided by race and color, and was on the verge of bloodshed, with the wisdom of its leaders, abandoned the path of revenge and chose the forum of truth and reconciliation. Its people forgave the abuses they had suffered, reconciled their differences and negotiated, and were able to build the new democratic country on a firm foundation. The second amazing experience is the people of Rwanda. After the horrific genocide, instead of destroying each other, Rwandans mended their broken hearts through traditional Gacaca courts and national forums. Today, Rwanda has become a symbol of peace, development and prosperity in Africa because of the power of consultation. There is one great and immutable truth that these various countries clearly teach us; He said that a deliberate people will pass the test, and a deliberate nation will endure forever. On the other hand, a people and a country that has not developed a culture of dialogue, that is not consulted, is weak and highly exposed to any external or internal challenges. A society that fails to consult, is constantly riddled with doubts and internal strife. When the door to dialogue is completely closed, the door to hatred, destruction and division is thrown wide open. An uninformed society can be driven to the brink by seemingly minor differences. The country will fall into a very difficult situation, but it will not stand up at all, it will collapse. Therefore, Ethiopia should not waste this precious period of national consultation. Yesterday's precious opportunities that were repeatedly wasted, should be a big disappointment for us today. We must all sit around the common table with dignity, patiently agree with each other, balance our deep differences wisely and build a strong and prosperous nation. Deliberation is not a sign of weakness or fear, but a strength of superior wisdom and intelligence. Instead of raising the scars of the past and blaming each other, it should be our main goal to create a common bright vision of the future through dialogue. We must learn important lessons from South Africa's reconciliation, Rwanda's revival, and Colombia's peace experience, and uphold the beautiful unity in diversity. With true consultation, tolerance and mutual understanding by its children, Ethiopia will definitely emerge victorious from the difficult challenge it has entered. Indeed, this is the truth. A deliberative country will last!
