A discussion was held with the fathers of religious institutes regarding road safety. Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, in collaboration with Addis Ababa Police Commission and Addis Media Network, held a discussion with religious institutes regarding road safety today. Alemseged Zewde, the consultant of the authority's office, opened the discussion with a speech and said that when we focus on road safety, it is mainly to prevent the death, injury and destruction of property caused by traffic accidents. Therefore, the authority should create a society that respects traffic laws and regulations to help reduce traffic accidents. For this, the role of religious institutions is high, so they should work together to bring about change and strengthen communication. Goitom Asfaw, director of the authority's service delivery monitoring and evaluation directorate, who led the discussion, said that the platform was suitable for discussing road safety with priests from religious institutes, especially to create a situation where it is possible to work together in order to educate the religious fathers about road safety. Officials have asked the office to help. Fathers from religious institutes also gave their opinion on the work done to ensure road safety and stated that they are ready to teach believers to prevent the accident by obeying the safety regulations as traffic accidents are mainly caused by human error. They requested that traffic control be strengthened by the relevant parties, that drivers should focus on their driving skills, that all road users should be helped to correct driver behavior, and that legal frameworks should be strengthened. A documentary film was produced in the same discussion forum organized by the Authority's Road Safety Capacity Building Directorate. Finally, the questions raised by the participants were answered by the moderators and the discussion was concluded. By Kamal Danye, the photo is beautifully edited
