Mayor Adanech Abebe stated that Addis Ababa's achievements have been recognized on the international stage. The mayor added that the income program award she received in Rio de Janeiro, the Seoul Smart City Award (2024) which was donated by South Korea and recognized the city's leadership, and the recognition given by Buenos Aires for the improvement of the waste disposal system. Mayor Adanech Abebe said in a report presented to members of the House that Addis Ababa was awarded the Best Smart City Award in Africa (2024) and was also awarded a gold medal in the international cities competition for its achievements in road safety and speed management.
