The city administration removed the leaders of the poor houses from their responsibility and returned the victims to their homes:- The Addis Ababa city administration left the sub-city (Ward 5) public trust aside and evicted the residents from the kebele houses where they lived for centuries for their personal gain. Victims said that leaders who misused their responsibilities, surrounded many residents with police and construction fences during the night and early morning, scattered their property and threw them on the streets. The mother, who is a resident of the district, said that the police took them out of their house where they were sleeping. The other cancer patient said that the police also threatened her son and kicked her out of the house. Following this, the senior officials of the Addis Ababa city administration immediately investigated the matter, and ordered that the abuses be rectified quickly and the victims returned to their homes immediately. According to Ahmed Hasan, the chief executive of the district, "The government builds houses and gives them to the poor, but does not have the leadership to evict the poor from the houses and enter them." The residents who got their homes back and got justice also thanked Mayor Adanech Abebe and the city administration. Mr. Abayneh Amergo, Head of the Good Governance Complaints and Complaints Department at the Mayor's Office, said that as a public servant, the leadership should serve with sincerity and honesty, and asked the public to provide appropriate assistance to the city administration to solve such problems of good governance. As we live in the community, the society watches us closely even when we destroy or do good, Ato Abayneh said, adding that all the leadership should understand this and serve the people sincerely with the responsibility given to them.
