የአዲስ አበባ ትራፊክ ማኔጅመንት ባለስልጣን በአለፈው በጀት አመት በከተማ ደረጃ ጥሩ ውጤት በማምጣት የስራ አፈጻጸሙን ላቅ ያለ ደረጃ ላይ ማድረስ የቻለ ተቋም መሆኑ ይታወቃል፡፡ ይህንን ውጤት የበለጠ በማሻሻል ከከተማ አስተዳደሩ ከአንድ እስከ ሶስት ደረጃ በመያዝ 2018ንም ለማጠናቀቅ በቀጣይ ሶስት ወራትም የተሻለ ተግባር ለመፈጸም የሚያስችል የፈጣን ምላሽ አምጪ እቅድ በተቋም ደረጃ ተዘጋጅቷል፡፡ ይህንኑ እቅድ መነሻ በማድረግና የቴክኖሎጂ አጠቃቀሙን ማሳደግ የሚያስችሉ ተግባራትን በማካተት የአይሲቲ ዳሬክቶሬትም የድርጊት መርሃ ግብር እንደሚከተለው ተዘጋጅቷል፡፡

ቁጥር 84/2016 መሰረት የትራፊክ ማኔጅመንት ባለስልጣን እንደገና የተቋቋመ ሲሆን ከተሰጠው ስልጣንና
ኃላፊነት መነሻ ለተገልጋዮቹ የሚሰጣቸውን አገልግሎቶች በአዲስ መልክ በመለየት አደራጅቷል፡፡
ባለስልጣኑ በተሰጠው ተግባርና ኃላፊነት የከተማ አስተዳደሩን የትራፊክ አመራርና አስተዳደር ሥራ
በበላይነት ይመራል፤ ይቆጣጠራል፤ ለአገልግሎቱ ሥልጠት የሚያግዝ ስልት የመቀየስ ፤ የተመተግበር

Throughout the world, traffic levels are increasing and, in urban areas, these increasing levels have led to pressures on the road network which are causing serious economic, environmental and social problems. Many past policies have failed to deal adequately with these problems, including the traditional approach of forecasting vehicle usage and building more roads to accommodate this.
