"We have seen that the regulation 557/2016 issued at the national level is properly implemented in Addis Ababa city" • Visitors ****************** T/M/B July 03/2018):- Addis Ababa traffic management official shared his experience with the visitors who are engaged in the transport sector from Debrebarhan city. At the same time, the visitors said that they observed the implementation of the international road safety strategy and the standard control process in Addis Ababa city. Although it has been 4 years since the Council of Ministers Regulation No. 557/2016 was issued to regulate the safety of visitors' road transport traffic; It is only being done by the official office. Amare Tareqin, Director General of the Authority who spoke at the sharing of experience, said that when the Authority was established 9 years ago, its main task is to ensure road safety and reduce accidents. Ato Amare said that in these few years, many activities have been carried out to make the city's traffic flow comfortable and safe for road users by designing the city's transport policy and designing a road safety strategy and coordinating with governmental and non-governmental organizations. The official explained that while bringing down the 18 powers and functions given by the city administration to the ground, the Directorate of Road Safety Education and Capacity Building, Road Safety Engineering, Control and Event Management, Parking Development Management and Insurance Fund Service and other work units were set up. In addition, Dereje Warku, the leader of the control sector team, supported the activities of the work units and explained them with photos. Mr. Abdi Kitesa, a control expert, explained the activities that will be carried out by supporting the control and parking services with technology. After the presentation, the visitors expressed their satisfaction with the welcome and explanation given to them and testified that the office is carrying out the proper procedures of the transport sector. They said that they will apply the experience gained in their region and city. Finally, the team members expressed their appreciation by visiting the control center under the authority's office.
