The Addis Ababa Education Bureau announced that 98% of the 6th grade city-wide exam was given in the 2018 school year in Addis Ababa schools. In the academic year of 2018, 84 thousand 257 students of the city administration were given the exam at 199 exam centers, of which 82 thousand 137 passed with a score of 50 or above. In a statement given by the head of the office, Dr. Zelem Mulathu, out of 768 schools that took the exam, 548 schools have completely passed their students. The head of the office stated that 98 percent of two students have registered, 449 students are 95 and above, 5 thousand 559 students are 90 and above, and 82 thousand 137 students, that is 97 point 48 percent, are 50 and above. Dr. Zalem said that 97.83 percent of the day students in all schools passed the test and 96.66 percent of the private tests passed. He explained that 96.80 percent of the day government, 99.15 percent of the day private, 91.19 percent of the government night, and 78.92 percent of the private night have passed. He also announced that the overall passing score of the 6th grade exit exam given in the 2018 academic year in schools under Addis Ababa city administration is 50 percent.
