The 2nd round of theoretical and practical training, which was being given to newly assigned workers on traffic management and regulations, was completed ************************* (T/M/B April 22 /2016 AD):- The Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority in cooperation with the Addis Ababa Police Traffic Control Department completed the second round of traffic management training today. In the training, the rules and regulations of the authority's employees assigned to the traffic control, event, awareness and road fund work units in the new staff allocation were given and supported by practice, based on basic practices and concepts. Inspector Solomon Adane, Head of Traffic Skills and Public Awareness Division of Addis Ababa Traffic Police, gave theoretical training on traffic safety and accidents as well as ethics and service delivery. According to the official, traffic collision is an emergency that can be caused by negligence of drivers, lack of development of road use system by pedestrians, lack of technical efficiency of vehicles, road and bad weather. They highlighted the types of traffic accidents and the main causes, and provided information on the terrible damage caused by traffic accidents at the international, national and Addis Ababa levels. Inspector Kenenisa Chaka, who gave the practical training, said that if proper traffic management and dispatchers are created for the society, it is possible to work effectively on traffic flow and safety. For its part, the authority created awareness on the legal frameworks it implements, especially 395/2009 and the 6 levels under it. At the conclusion of the training, the trainees raised ideas and questions about the documents provided, the resources needed during work, and the director general of the institute, Mr. Amare Tarekhin, gave answers and explanations and set the next direction of work.
