Minister of Transport and Logistics Alemu Sme (Dr.) stated that they should work with determination to improve transport services. The summary of the experience exchange visit of regional and city administration transport sector institutions in Addis Ababa and the program of the “road for people” movement was held. At the same time, Dr. Alemu Sme said that the change being implemented in Addis Ababa city and as a country has created a good opportunity for the transport sector. He mentioned that the development of the corridor has solved the problems that were being observed in the transport sector – in addition to the construction of roads, the construction of a separate pedestrian and bicycle path has led to a comfortable flow of urban transport. Regional transport offices also emphasized that they should provide services that save time, energy and money by putting into practice the experience they have taken from Addis Ababa city administration’s transport sector institutions. The Ministry’s information indicates that the weekly “roads for people” movement, which is carried out by making roads free from vehicles, will continue to be strengthened as it has many benefits in addition to encouraging non-motorized transport.
