The Traffic Management Authority of Addis Ababa has announced the availability of solar power at 27 traffic light junctions in the city. Mr. Zeinu Elias, a senior expert at the authority's road safety engineering directorate, said that in the past, there was a problem with traffic lights not being lit due to power outages, and to solve this problem, in the last six months, solar power has been installed in high traffic areas. The places where solar power is installed are German Square, Jamo Michael, 1 Air Health, 18 Roundabout, 3 Number Roundabout, Armed Forces. For Gehar, Stephen, Saint Joseph, National Theatre, ETV/Post Office/, Black Lion, Sungatera, Bankodiroma, Parliament, Atlas, Bole Michael, African Union, Tobacco, Shola Market, Shola Pepsi; Sahlitamariyam. Ato Zeinu stated that they are Bole Millennium and Bole Super Market. Mr. Zeinu, who stated that solar energy supply will be installed separately after research, added the new traffic light installations and said that currently there are 90 traffic lights in the city and the traffic flow is becoming peaceful.
