Kolfe Karanyo and Kirkos sub-city police departments held discussions with residents and stakeholders in various forums. ** Addis Ababa; July 18, 2018 (Addis Police):- Kolfe Karanyo Sub-District Police Chief Department's activities in the 2018 financial year, Deputy Chief Police Department Commander Motuma Sima, Chief of the Sub-District Peace and Security Office Mr. Hussain Bilu, Crime Prevention Deputy Chief Commander Commander Ephraim Alemu and other police officers. Discussions were held in the presence of leaders and more than 2000 different community groups. Department Commander Assistant Commissioner Motuma Sima, while presenting the performance report for the fiscal year, said that it was possible to reduce crime in the fiscal year by coordinating with the peace-loving residents of the district and various security organizations. Assistant Commissioner Motuma added that by making the community the owner of security, in coordination with the neighboring Sheger City administration and various stakeholders, no crime has been committed in 14 of the 88 wards in the sub-city. Assistant Commissioner Motuma Sima said that apart from creating various security arrangements, the Police Department has also implemented many activities in the fiscal year to make police access more efficient by using the technological results of the era and building police service centers in each district. The head of the peace and security office of the district, Ato Hussain Bilu, said that the work done by the community in coordinating with the security agencies by putting out lights in every area and exposing hair changes is admirable. The chief added that the security work will not be effective without community participation, so he said on the platform to strengthen the assistance he is doing. At the same time, a discussion was held in the presence of Commander Bisrat Tadele, Deputy Chief of Crime Prevention Department of Kirkos Sub-City Police Department and Head of Peace and Security Office of the Sub-City Ato Taye Shiferau. Commander Bisrat said that the public and religious holidays celebrated by the people, including the 7th national election, as well as various events, could be done peacefully with the cooperation of the community and the security forces. Ato Taye Shiferau, on his part, said that it was possible to reduce crime threats through the coordinated approach of the police and society, and said that the cooperation should continue.
