Addis Ababa; June 3/2016 (ESA): Addis Ababa Police Traffic Control Department announced that drivers and pedestrians should not be distracted from obeying traffic laws and regulations in their daily lives.

The program was held at Cross Square and traffic police members and volunteers working on traffic accidents were present.
Addis Ababa Police Traffic Control Department Deputy Director of Motor Escort and Control Chief Inspector Salamu Kalpiso said; The purpose of the program is to reduce injuries to people and property by making pedestrians and drivers obey traffic laws.
Among the issues that cause traffic accidents are speeding, touching the phone, not wearing a seat belt and not moving in the right lane, he said.
Therefore, drivers and pedestrians are required to obey traffic laws and regulations to reduce the risk to people and property.
The awareness program started in September 2016.
