Staff of the Authority’s Public Relations and Communication Affairs Directorate visited the city’s traffic control center /2017 AD) :- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority Public Relations and Communication Affairs Directorate staff visited the modern traffic control center of the city today. The purpose of the visit is to understand the current situation and the internal workings of the traffic control center managed under the authority’s office before it starts its operation, to obtain information that will enable it to carry out promotion and awareness work for the public. During the visit, the traffic control center’s automation system team leader Mr. Yagerswe Wode explained to the team members that the building has four floors below the ground and all work areas are controlled by modern technology. Also, the team leader said that the center has 40 cameras that rotate 360 degrees and scan the area and buildings. The leader of the team said that every activity scanned by the cameras will be recorded for 18 days and it will be possible to look back for those who want information. In addition, he explained that the location of 16 servers supported by modern technology has been prepared and the electricity, water and communication equipment used for the use of the center has been extended with the support of technology. Mr. Yagerswe, who explained that every floor has been equipped with modern voice systems where every manager and employees can exchange messages, explained that in the future, the center will work 24 hours a day, and it will include traffic management, traffic police, fire prevention and the city’s safety. He said that with the cameras installed on the roads of the city, the institutions, according to their role, monitor every traffic and security movement of the city and receive information, so that the city can have a peaceful and safe movement. In their comments at the conclusion of the visit, the members of the group stated that they found great resources in promoting the center and providing information about the center’s activities to any body; He said that he was happy that a traffic control center, which did not exist in the city before, was built and managed by the authority office.
