Under the motto "Let's save lives by obeying traffic laws", a city-wide road safety awareness campaign was held **,* (T/B December 24/2018): Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Addis Ababa Police General Department, stakeholders and media experts participated in the Let's save lives by obeying traffic laws from January 1st to 30th. Under the theme, a city-wide road safety awareness campaign was launched. According to Amare Tareqin, Director of the authority's office, the road safety campaign in the city aims to reduce traffic accidents by making road safety awareness accessible to the public using various media and bringing about a change in attitude. He added that the movement platform that will be held from January 1 to 30 is a time when religious festivals are held and social events such as weddings are held, so there are frequent traffic accidents. Therefore, they stated that they are ready to do precautionary work by expanding the horizon of awareness. In particular, activities that improve the understanding of road use by drivers and pedestrians will be provided through social and formal media, in schools, religious institutions and on the roads. The discussion document of the program is the Road Safety Awareness and Capacity Building Directorate of the authority's office, Birhanu Kuma and the Technical Advisor of Vital Strategy in Africa, Mrs. Asmret Nguse. Finally, to the ideas and opinions presented by the media bodies and stakeholders who said that they would help the movement work, Mr. Amare Tarekhin, Chief/Director of the authority office, and Head of Bole sub-city traffic control department and center representative, Col. Kura Mulugeta, responded and explained and reached a consensus.
