The training provided to 300 traffic control personnel at the Ethiopian Police University has been completed. Addis Ababa City Administration Traffic Management Authority in collaboration with Ethiopian Police University has completed the training of control staff today. At the conclusion of the training program, Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority Deputy Director Amare Tareqin said that the Authority's office is one of the reformed institutions and has grown from 5 branches to 11 branches in order to increase the services provided to the community. Therefore, strict traffic control is one of the activities that the institution performs to ensure a peaceful and acceptable traffic movement. In order to achieve this goal, the importance of the training to reduce traffic accidents by having a strong control over driving over the speed limit, talking on the phone, not wearing a helmet and not wearing a seat belt is very important. Therefore, according to the authority's plan to train control staff and coordinators as well as team leaders in 3 rounds, the first round of trainees will be graduated today. Mr. Amare expressed his belief that the employees who completed the training will be effective in improving their ethics, physical fitness and service delivery skills when they return to their jobs. Col. Daniel Berhanu, coordinator of community studies at the university, said that the training is not only military-like, but also helps to increase the ability to enforce laws and regulations in the field of work. In his message to the trainees, Col. Daniel said that you are required to serve the society properly by applying the legal knowledge you have acquired in the training to make the city free from traffic accidents. According to the opinion given by the traffic control expert Titar Alem Amare, who participated in the training, the training was more than we expected. In other words, she said that it is a training in which we have gained sufficient understanding on the enforcement of traffic fines in relation to working with professional ethics in service delivery. Bole Branch Office Traffic Control Coordinator Trainee Bereket Geetasu said that the training provided us with a thorough understanding of ethics, physical fitness and traffic laws and regulations. At the conclusion of the program, the trainees demonstrated the professional practices they had been trained in and were presented with a certificate of recognition.
