As announced by the Road Safety and Insurance Fund Service; Both public and private medical institutions have the obligation to help any injured person free of charge, but some institutions are not implementing the procedure prescribed by the guidelines. The public relations coordinator of the service, Ato Surafel Birhanu, warned that "medical professionals and institutions found to have violated the guidelines will be dealt with." He emphasized that all medical facilities should provide emergency medical assistance to traffic accident victims without any conditions. This duty has been set since 2005. The coordinator who remembered that since; He told Ahadu Radio that the directive issued at the time, which ordered the institutions to provide free treatment up to 2 thousand birr, was revised to 15 thousand birr. He explained that law enforcement agencies will be trained to hold institutions that do not comply with the law responsible for the same offense. Mr. Surafel explained that the expenses incurred by health institutions for free emergency treatment will be reimbursed. It is stated that the fund collects money to implement this free emergency treatment from insurance companies in addition to its own contribution.
