The Authority has stated that the manualless automatic payment system launched in May 2017 to modernize street, underground and smart parking services is effective. Since the implementation of this modern system, it has been possible to create employment opportunities for more than 4 thousand citizens organized by 446 parking associations, and more than 2.1 million vehicles have been handled by this payment system. In addition, the institution announced that the system has generated more than 100 million birr in income for the city administration and its members since its inception. According to Binyam Getachew, the authority's director of parking development management, the new uniform is a reflective shirt with the name and logo of the institution, and its main purpose is to identify parties who have terminated their contracts and to make it easier for users to recognize legitimate service providers. The new uniforms have been prepared and distributed to the 446 unions and strict instructions have been given to the members to wear the uniforms only during working hours.
