Following the development of the corridor in Addis Ababa, the number of people who die in traffic accidents has doubled. AMN - December 4/2018 Addis Ababa City Traffic Management Authority has announced that following the development of corridor in Addis Ababa, the death rate due to traffic accidents has been reduced by two due to the modern traffic flow control and data management implemented in the city. The director general of the authority, Ato Kbebew Mideksa, stated that during his meeting with AMN, it is providing traffic flow control services by implementing a digital system. The official said that 80 percent of the number of vehicles in Ethiopia are located in Addis Ababa city. Besides the vehicles moving in the city, he also mentioned that the city has been creating more traffic congestion due to the traffic flow that occurs at all 5 city exit and entrance gates. He said that the roads and the existing infrastructures were not built according to their plan, and the backwardness of more than 400 intersections had aggravated the problem. Following the development of the corridor, the modern asphalt roads that are being built in the capital have ensured that the city has a more streamlined and organized traffic flow control system. He stated that it is important to control the vehicles, various machines and heavy cargo vehicles moving in the city. The Traffic Management Authority of Addis Ababa City has established different operational systems and has been working together with the relevant institutions to promote the purchase, and the results have been recorded.
