Today, we visited Blaine Besena, a child who has been bedridden for the past 10 years due to hydrocephalus, at her home. Baby Blaine has been ordered by doctors to go abroad and receive the necessary treatment, but due to lack of finances, she has not been able to do so. As we always do to ease the problems of the residents of our city, today we handed over the 4 million Birr needed for her treatment to her biological father. Blaine's father is a young winner working as a cleaner in our city. We find him a strong young man who is a role model for many, taking care of Blaine, his younger sister, his other sister with a disability and his frail mother who is retired from the armed forces without his mother's help. As they say, "Keep an ear to the ground", we have found it extremely difficult to even stand in the house they currently live in so that baby Blaine can attend the prescribed physiotherapy treatment, given the nature of her illness. Therefore, we decided that the family should get a better house. I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Ali Al Amoudi, who supported this noble cause based on our appeal, and who covered Blaine's entire medical expenses.
