It was revealed that the role of religious leaders in preventing road traffic accidents is high. In the same training organized for two hundred clerics from all 11 sub-cities, it was pointed out that the help of the clerics will play a major role in making the road safety education available to the public to prevent traffic accidents in the city. Mrs. Hawa Wabi, Head of the Finance and Administration Office, opened the program with a speech. The official said that the office is working with various stakeholders and institutions, and especially the messages sent by religious denominations are highly accepted by their followers, so the results will be high if the road safety education is given through them. Road safety education and training expert Mr. Katapoksa Tesera gave an extensive explanation on the nature, facts and pillars of road safety, international, national and city-wide road traffic accident data and the role of religious leaders in road safety activities. Next, Mr. Tesfaye Berhe, the leader of the road safety education and training group, presented a document on the general information on road safety, the causes of traffic accidents and their consequences, who is expected to do what to reduce traffic accidents. The training was completed by reaching a common understanding to carry out road safety awareness activities together with the religious leaders by presenting ideas and opinions on the documents presented.
