Training for 3000 mass transport drivers on safe driving, manners and road safety has started ********************** (T/B December 21/2018) :- Addis Ababa Traffic Management in cooperation with Addis Ababa Traffic Police and Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety on safe driving, manners, road safety Dehnt also started giving training to 3000 mass transport drivers today regarding the revised Regulation No. 557/2016. On that day, Mr. Amare Tareqin, the director of the authority office, in his opening speech, explained the general activities of the institution, especially the activities related to awareness, engineering improvements, rule enforcement, insurance fund and post-disaster. Along with this, the director has instructed that the bus captains should do their part to reduce the risk. It was not possible to understand from the program of the Road Safety Awareness and Capacity Building Directorate, which organized the training. Mr. Tolosa Geda, a senior expert at the Bloomberg Initiative for Global Road Safety, presented a document and explored the issues of public transport drivers doing their part in an effort to reduce human deaths, injuries and property damage by knowing the global aspect of traffic accidents, regional, national and city-level figures. Another thing that Mr. Tolosa mentioned was knowing the causes of traffic accidents and those that are more dangerous, such as drinking and driving, not wearing seat belts, speeding up and not wearing a helmet are dangerous and pointed out that every driver should pay special attention to the causes and take appropriate precautions. It can be understood from the program that the training provided to mass transport drivers is continuous.
