The branch took conscious corrective action against pedestrians who did not follow proper road usage. 137 pedestrians were fined during two days of control work. (T/M/BA/ February 20/2018 AD):- Addis Ababa Traffic Management Authority, Kirkos Branch Office, Road Safety Awareness and Regulation Enforcement Directorate, in coordination with volunteer traffic organizers and Popolare police officers, recently conducted awareness-supported control work on pedestrians who did not use proper road usage. The branch office does not use the pedestrian crossings /Zebran/ properly according to Rule No. 557/2016; Ato Mulalem Adgo, head of the branch office's traffic control team, said that 137 pedestrians who were not traveling on footpaths and were found using non-pedestrian roads to cross were remedied. As part of the corrective measure, 150 pedestrians who cannot afford to pay the fines have been made to do the work of social service - distribution and coordination of awareness publications for road users. The team leader announced that since last January, two days a week, the branch office has been carrying out strict control work on pedestrians who do not use the correct road usage in squares, pedestrian crossings and crossings, and the same procedure will be strengthened.
